Sarah + Michael

If I don’t see her each day, I miss her
Gee what a thrill, each time I kiss her
Believe me, I’ve got a case
On Nancy with the laughing face

She takes the winter and makes it summer
Summer could take some lessons from her
Picture a tomboy in lace
That’s Nancy with the laughing face

Did you ever hear mission bells ringing
Well, she’ll give you the very same glow
When she speaks you would think it was singing
Just hear her say hello

I swear to goodness, you can’t resist her
Sorry for you, she has no sister
No angel could replace
Nancy with the laughing face

“Nancy with the Laughing Face” – Frank Sinatra

I can’t tell you enough how amazing this engagement shoot was. The light was amazing, the couple was amazing, the location was amazing. It was all amazing! And you know it’s going to be amazing when you meet the couple and the groom-to-be asks if we can pray before we get started…ummm, yes please! I usually pray by myself on the way to my shoots, but it was so great to pray with the couple right before their shoot. He prayed for my business and for God to get the glory and just that we would have a blessed shoot. I had to hold back my tears as we prayed because…ya know…I was trying to be all professional and business-like. 🙂

As we got started on their e-shoot, I learned that they didn’t need much coaching or me telling them what to do. One of the reasons I love doing e-shoots is that when the couple is in love, you don’t really have to tell them to act like they are in love…it just comes out.

I love when that happens. I love when the loves just comes out naturally. It’s beautiful to watch and to capture for them, and it makes my job so much easier. 🙂

As we walked around this beautiful park, we talked about lives and church and what their wedding will be like and decisions that are being made now in view of their marriage ahead.

At the end of the shoot, we stopped to talk a bit more (love when that happens!). I talked about decisions in my family and the lives of some other family members and the groom-to-be asked if he could pray for me and my family again. Um, yes, please! Hold back the tears, Jenny! Sarah and Michael were sweet and easy to talk to and easy to photograph. I’m sure their wedding will be beautiful as will their marriage.

At the end of our last chat, I noticed we were all getting eaten up by mosquitos so we said our goodbyes and had some hugs and then I mentioned I should probably get home before we get the Zikka virus. Michael laughed. He thought I was joking.

Michael and Sarah, you are a sweet couple and you glorify the Lord through your engagement as I’m sure you will do in your marriage. Thanks for letting me be your engagement photographer!
